As of January 3, 2023, the three major cellphone carriers in the U.S. have all shut down their 3G networks and instead are relying on newer technologies to allow devices to connect to the internet and transfer data.

What you need to know:

• Your CPI Security panel is equipped with a cellular radio to connect wirelessly with our central station, which monitors your alarm system and notifies emergency services for dispatch when an alarm is triggered
• This radio is using an older technology that needs to be upgraded to ensure your security system is connected to CPI’s central station
• While CPI is not responsible if your alarm system fails to function properly due to carrier network performance, CPI will update your system panel to function with the carrier network at NO COST to you, however, to do so, we need to schedule a technician to come to your premises
• You may still be able to access smart home features

Without updating your system, you will no longer be able to:

• Receive timely system activity alerts
• Remotely arm or disarm your security system from the mobile app
• In the event of an alarm, CPI’s monitoring station may not be notified and as a result emergency services may not be dispatched
