During the month of March, employees in our HQ had two different opportunities to volunteer with Freedom Communities, a nonprofit working in the Freedom Drive Corridor of West Charlotte. This incredible organization fulfills their mission to improve education, housing, employment and community wellness through the lens of “family-centered community transformation.”
“CPI Security employees are passionate about saving and improving lives, and we turn that passion into action by volunteering in the communities we live and work,”
Ken Gill, Founder and CEO of CPI Security
As part of our ongoing partnership with Freedom Communities, CPI employees built support bags for mothers in their Moms Moving Forward program. Support bags, which include handwritten notes of encouragement, will be given to mothers who are graduating from the program and to those in need of a “pick me up.” In total, our team built about 450 bags and wrote 100 notes of encouragement and congratulatory messages for moms graduating the program and celebrating all that they’ve accomplished thus far.
Another important aspect of empowerment is ensuring families and children have access to food. That’s why CPI employees also rolled up their sleeves to help host a pop-up food share with Loaves & Fishes. Our volunteers unloaded the delivery truck, sorted food into boxes and prepared packages for more than 70 families to pick up much-needed groceries.
For so many families in a crisis, a week’s worth of groceries from Loaves & Fishes can mean the difference between paying the rent or putting food on the table. And Freedom Communities’ partnership with Loaves & Fishes has fed hundreds of families over the last year.
We’re glad to help play a role in their service to our community and continue this amazing partnership to support underserved and vulnerable families.
