The Charlotte Turkey Trot has announced CPI Security as its first-ever title sponsor for this year’s event, held each year on Thanksgiving morning.
The CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot has been a local family tradition for the past 33 years. Listed as one of the 30 Best Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trots in America and AAA’s “3 Best Runs” in the Carolinas, events include an 8K run, 5K run/walk, 1 Mile Fun Run and Kid’s Tot Trot.
“It’s been a family tradition of ours to participate in the Charlotte Turkey Trot every Thanksgiving, which makes it even more exciting for CPI Security to be the title sponsor of this iconic race,” CEO and Founder Ken Gill said. “We’re honored to help continue the legacy the Charlotte Turkey Trot has built, and we hope other families join us in celebrating and giving back to the place we call home.”
Starting and finishing at the SouthPark Mall, the largest road race (9,000+) in North Carolina is a homecoming destination for extended families, old classmates, and a place to meet and celebrate with neighbors. The community comes together for a healthy kick-off to the holiday season before heading home to celebrate Thanksgiving with food, family, and friends.
“CPI Security is the ideal title sponsor with a large presence in the region, and headquarters in the Queen City” commented David Jessey, co-owner of the event. “The CPI Security Charlotte Turkey Trot is a multi-generational family affair and CPI’s business is about protecting Charlotte area families. The event allows the community to come together and share a healthy walk, run, or trot, while celebrating the holiday amongst friends, giving thanks, and giving back. CPI’s participation allows us to elevate the events ability to do all these things. Charity in our community is at the core of the CPI Charlotte Turkey Trot. Included in the title sponsorship is a significant donation that will be reinvested into our community through our primary beneficiary Samaritan’s Feet, plus a portion will go to CMPD Explorer’s Holiday Toy Drive – an event that CPI is a longtime supporter of.”
