It was almost two o’clock in the morning on May 9 when a terrible thunderstorm and tornado tore through Anderson, S.C.
Devery Davis was startled awake when she heard a loud boom-like sound.
“The ground shook. The house shook,” Davis recalled.
Two large trees fell on top of her house, trapping her inside.
“I could not reach my phone to call 911. It was just a terrifying experience,” Davis said.
Thankfully, Davis has CPI Security. When the trees fell on her home, her security system activated a front door burglary alarm.
“I walked in the hallway and CPI came on and said, ‘identify yourself’,” Davis said. “It was like a beacon in the night for me.”
Davis says CPI stayed on the line with her while they dispatched the fire department to help rescue her. The local fire department arrived and extracted her from the home which was in ruins.
“They were so comforting- to hear their voice – and they were getting someone out to help me. I just don’t know what I would have done without CPI that night,” Davis said.
