CPI Night Guard is a revolutionary system that utilizes a combination of advanced motion analytics rules to detect activity on supported video devices during overnight hours. Our Five Dimond Certified operators analyze video footage to determine the nature of the activation and respond appropriately to the threat level presented.
What is Night Guard?
Your CPI outdoor cameras* are equipped with Intelligent Video Activity Notifications, also known as IVAN. When IVAN detects a potential threat to your property, it sends an alert to your phone. But during the overnight hours when you’re likely to be sleeping, we don’t want you to miss an alert. Night Guard allows CPI’s Central Station monitoring center to remotely monitor and deter potential threats for you.
How Does Night Guard Work?
When IVAN detects a threat, it will alert you and CPI’s Central Station monitoring center. CPI’s Central Station Operators will pull up the live video feed to assess the situation. The operator can then utilize two-way audio, lights, sirens, and more to deter the person from proceeding. If a crime is committed or someone continues to act suspiciously, CPI’s Central Station Operator can escalate the situation by dispatching first responders.
Threat Levels
CPI adheres to the video verification guidelines set by the Partnership for Priority Verified Alarm Response Committee (PPVAR).
Threat Level 1 – If no people or evidence of criminal or suspicious activity exists, the monitoring center will monitor the property to confirm no issues or threats are observed.
Threat Level 2 – If people are present and their presence is in the scope of normal activities and there is no evidence that criminal activity is forthcoming, the monitoring center will monitor the property to confirm no issues or threats are observed.
Any activity or presence that does not clearly fit into a specific scenario is monitored until the Operator has enough evidence to make a clear decision on a course of action.
Threat Level 3 – If people are observed and their presence is suspicious, or there is clear evidence that a crime has taken place, is taking place, or is imminent, the monitoring center will immediately dispatch the appropriate law enforcement agency while continuing to monitor the situation. The monitoring center can attempt to deflect criminal activity by verbally challenging suspicious persons and/or using the camera siren (dependent on camera functionality).
In the event the monitoring center must dispatch an emergency services agency, the Operator will continue to call the residence or business contact list until we are able to notify a responsible party of the situation.
