On Sept. 29, 2024, Brian received a call in the middle of the night.
“It was CPI Security notifying us we had a glass break-in,” Brian said.
Brian owns a One Stop Tobacco and Vape in Zebulon, NC. He’s counted on CPI Security to protect his store since its opening in 2018.
While Brian made his way to the store, CPI Security dispatched the local police department.
“Do you have any video surveillance,” Wake-Raleigh Dispatchers asked.
“Yeah, I’m looking at it now. He just broke in, they’re in the store now and they’re still there,” CPI’s Central Station Operator responded.
Video surveillance shows the intruder throwing a brick through the glass door. He steps through the window and runs toward the back of the store.
Coincidentally, the intruder only ended up stealing products that Brian planned to discard anyway, as they were nearing expiration.
“The guy just ran out in a black coat,” CPI’s Central Station operator relayed to Raleigh-Wake dispatchers.
Footage showed the intruder walking around the building, but he stopped and turned around.
“He came back in the store looking for his phone which he didn’t find,” Brian said. “Instead, the forensics [officer] found it and they arrested him the same night.”
Without CPI Security’s video surveillance and notification to local authorities, Brian says they wouldn’t have known until the morning there was ever a break-in.
“My CPI Security System definitely made all the difference,” Brian said.
